Sustainable packaging solution provider Coveris has introduced a new range of paper-based recyclable flexible packaging solutions.

Named MonoFlex Fibre, the new range is designed to offer high shelf impact while ensuring recyclability within existing paper streams.

The range is categorised into MonoFlex Fibre Pure, featuring a single functional paper layer, and MonoFlex Fibre, a multilayer structure with a maximised paper share.

Both products include subcategories for primary and secondary packaging, offering sealing and barrier properties.

According to Coveris, each specification within the MonoFlex Fibre range provides the necessary protection and barrier properties such as resistance to grease, oxygen, moisture, light, or mineral oils, whilst also being fully recyclable.

The packaging is available as premade bags and form-fill-seal solutions, enhancing brand visibility with superior printability options.

The transition to MonoFlex Fibre packaging is designed to be seamless for customers, requiring no significant changes to their existing machinery.

The new line has already demonstrated efficiency and speed on common packing lines, according to the company.

Coveris paper flexibles and market development director Melinda Bonamour said: “As part of our No Waste strategy, Coveris’ focus is on selecting the most eco-efficient and high-performing packaging for each product, rather than simply deciding between paper or plastic.

“By expanding our portfolio to include paper-based options and reducing plastic usage in packaging for items needing external protection, we aim to offer customers the best solution aligned with their brand vision and product requirements.”

The product launch aligns with the EU’s European Packaging and Packaging Waste Regulation, which mandates that all packaging must be reusable or recyclable by 2030.

Late last month, Coveris expanded its block bottom bag range with the inclusion of monomaterial paper.
