Global speciality packaging manufacturer ASG has announced the acquisition of MeadWestvaco’s (MWV’s) Polish beauty and personal care folding carton business Bydgoszcz.
The acquisition is part of ASG’s multi-year strategy to develop additional packaging solutions for markets including beauty and personal care, spirits, confectionery, and healthcare. ASG, a portfolio company of Atlas Holdings, plans to expand its footprint in the European consumer-packaging market by leveraging the Bydgoszcz operation’s assets. It will also expand its global customer base in its primary business of print, packaging, and plastics.
ASG Europe chief executive Tony Garnish said that the company looks to cultivate new opportunities while continuing to deliver better solutions for its existing clients.
"In bringing Bydgoszcz into our group, we increase our level of technical capability, experience, and knowledge of consumer markets," Garnish added.
ASG board of directors chairman Mike Jackson said that the acquisition will enable the company to better meet the needs of demanding consumer brands and existing customers.
"This acquisition is another excellent platform from which ASG can grow into new markets," Jackson added.
