Digital imaging solutions provider Screen USA has developed DynaFlex, new software for flexo printing applications in the packaging sector.
The new software has been designed to reduce throughput times and enhance the process of creating colour separations for flexo printing.
Compatible with existing workflow systems, the software provides professional tools to streamline prepress production and improve output quality.
According to Screen, the new software enables flexo printers to achieve a wider tonal range, sharper image detail and higher print density with vivid colours.
Equipped with routing information protocol (RIP) features, DynaFlex is suitable for label printing, flexible packaging, carton folding and conversion. RIP features include amplitude modulated (AM) and hybrid screening, preflight and soft proofing for contone and raster pages.
Prepress operators can use the software to interpret customer files, trap the files as they are received, apply distortion and implement the desired screening method.

By GlobalDataScreen CTP / flexo products marketing manager Wadie Navarro said that the folder-based DynaFlex workflow is packed with substantial controls.
"DynaFlex is an important addition for companies that produce flexographic printing that want to solve workflow and output issues," Navarro added.
DynaFlex software also features ink spread compensation that protects small vector objects in an area of high dot gain, as well as plate cell patterning that helps transfer ink in solid areas, a scum dot removal tool for automatic removal of partially formed dots, and ink duct control tool that calculates the ink coverage for ink ducts.
