German labels, labelling machines and adhesives producer Herma has introduced two new poly-propylene (PP) films and a new polyolefin (PO) film to its product portfolio.
Compatible with all conventional printing methods, the new PP films are available in two versions, HERMAflex transparent (grade 833) and HERMAflex white (grade 843). The company says that both grades have a special surface for better printability, and both offer better die-cutting and dispensing properties.
The biaxially-oriented films comply with relevant EU regulations for labelling of flexible containers used for cosmetics, body care, household cleaning products and food products.
Herma’s other new launch, HERMA PO Laser (grade 801), is a white matt filled polyolefin film designed for applications with both black-and-white and colour laser printers.
Herma managing director Thomas Baumgärtner said that the multi-layer concept allows the company to overcome past challenges that occurred when processing films.
"We have been able to lower substantially the risk of adhesive bleeding. Likewise, the level of contamination of the cutting dies is significantly reduced in the case of films with a multi-layer adhesive," Baumgärtner added.
