Temperature assurance packaging provider Sonoco ThermoSafe has announced the launch of new controlled room temperature (CRT) versions of its Envoy Series of shipping packages.
The Envoy Series can maintain high-value products such as pharmaceuticals, biologics and vaccines within a specified temperature range during transport.
The new 15°C to 25°C temperature range versions address recently implemented European good distribution practice (GDP) regulations.
The Envoy CRT Series currently comprises four sizes ranging from 4.5l to 40l. Extra sizes may be added later, however.
Sonoco ThermoSafe Europe general manager Niall Lehane said that customers need to ship room-temperature drugs in temperature-controlled environments.
"The products initially will be available from our Mallow, Ireland, and Duren, Germany facilities. Availability from additional global sites is part of our future plans," Lehane added.
