Speciality plastic, fibre, foam and packaging products supplier Essentra has expanded its business operations in India with the formal opening of a new purpose-built, standalone facility at Bangalore in Karnataka state.
The new 70,000ft² facility will provide employment to nearly 100 people and can accommodate manufacturing, warehousing and the appropriate commercial infrastructure for all of the company’s business operations.
Essentra sees India as a key opportunity market to offer its speciality components, including healthcare and industrial products.
The porous technologies division of the new facility will allow a focus on manufacturing and sales activities for packaging. The facility will also expand Essentra’s product offerings, including tear tape, labels and security technologies. Essentra is also seeking growth opportunities in healthcare, nibs, consumer care and the speciality filtration business.
The company stated that its components and speciality tapes business operations would pave the way for the establishment of commercial, customer and warehousing capabilities at the Bangalore facility.
Essentra chief executive Colin Day said that the new facility will help the company to successfully develop business in India.
