The granted patent (Publication Number: US11964901B2) discloses a glass parison forming apparatus that includes a feeder spout with an orifice ring, a plunger with a blow conduit, and a neck ring positioned downstream of the orifice ring. The apparatus is designed to support a freely suspended parison without the need for chutes or other gob handling devices between the orifice ring and the neck ring. The plunger is configured to push molten glass through the orifice ring and blow it into a parison, while the neck ring creates a neck finish that allows the parison to be suspended freely.

Furthermore, the apparatus features a heated orifice ring to control the temperature of the molten glass, a screw plunger with a centrally located blow conduit, and an annular space for feeding molten glass and blowing gas to establish the exterior and interior of the glass parison. The system does not include a blank mold and is equipped with a compressed air source connected to the plunger and blow conduit. Additionally, the patent also covers a glass container manufacturing system that incorporates the glass parison forming apparatus, a blow mold, and transfer equipment to move the neck ring with the suspended parison to the blow mold for further processing.
