Flexible packaging manufacturer Constantia Flexibles has introduced EcoTwistPaper, its new sustainable confectionery packaging solution.
The product is a twist-wrap made entirely from paper, aligning with the global transition towards sustainable products.
EcoTwistPaper has been tested for repulpability by the Confederation of European Paper Industries, achieving a high score of 90 out of 100 for its printed material.
The new packaging solution also avoids the use of non-recyclable components such as wax or polymeric coatings, which are not compatible with paper recycling.
According to Constantia Flexibles, the packaging offers excellent product protection and wrapping properties and is not affected by the EU’s Single-Use Plastics Directive (SUPD) due to its lack of plastic coatings.
The paper’s softness, a result of advanced mechanical treatments, makes it suitable for wrapping confectionery items.
