Material science company Dow has unveiled REVOLOOP Recycled Plastics Resins, marking its commitment towards circularity and transforming waste.
The resins, featuring two new grades, are designed for non-food contact packaging applications.
According to Dow, one of the grades has 100% post-consumer recycled (PCR) content and the other is a formulated grade comprising up to 85% PCR derived from household waste.
This launch aligns with Dow’s ambition to advance circularity and transform waste, contributing to its 2030 target of commercialising three million tonnes (t) of circular and renewable solutions.
Dow Packaging & Specialty Plastics EMEA plastics mechanical recycling strategy leader Fabrice Digonnet said: “With the launch of our new grades of REVOLOOP Recycled Plastics Resins, we continue to expand our sustainability portfolio, working with brands, converters and recyclers to design new ways to use less plastic in packaging and to help that what is used is fully recyclable.
“Our REVOLOOP launch is an exciting evolution in our recycling story and enables us to achieve new circularity and low-carbon targets.”

By GlobalDataThe new REVOLOOP materials are designed to address the industry’s challenge of utilising recycled plastic household waste in high-demand applications such as collation shrink films.
For the new material, Dow collaborated with its long-time customer RKW Group, a European manufacturer of shrink films.
To maximise the value of recycled plastic household waste streams, Dow integrated its material science expertise with RKW’s extrusion and printing capabilities.
The resulting collation shrink film containing PCR is partially derived from recycled plastic household waste.
RKW Group R&D & Application Engineering director Konrad Noniewicz said: “By integrating REVOLOOP 100% PCR and REVOLOOP containing recycled plastics household waste with virgin materials, we create a flexible packaging solution that meets the requirements for mechanical recyclability, ensuring compatibility with existing recycling processes and contributing to the transition towards a circular economy.”
Dow and RKW will present the new REVOLOOP grades and the innovative shrink film at the upcoming Plastics Recycling Show Europe.
The conference will be held from 19-20 June in Amsterdam, the Netherlands.
Last month, Dow entered into a feedstock agreement with Freepoint Eco-Systems to procure approximately 65,000t a year of circular feedstock.
