Indian company Vaibhav Plasto Printing and Packaging has purchased two additional BOBST NOVA RS 5003 gravure presses from global equipment supplier BOBST.

This move is set to bolster the manufacturing capabilities of the packaging company’s domestic 27,000m² facility in Nagpur, Maharashtra.

The investment is aimed at enhancing customer satisfaction and meeting the increasing demands of the market.

Installation of the first BOBST NOVA RS 5003 gravure press at Vaibhav Plasto’s facility is expected to take place in the third quarter (Q3) of this year, with the second to follow in Q4 2024.

Known for their performance on a range of flexible materials, including eco-friendly substrates, the presses align with Vaibhav Plasto’s commitment to environmental stewardship.

They are designed for operational efficiency, enhanced productivity, quick changeovers, and minimal waste, which are claimed to be some of the critical features of the competitive Indian packaging industry.

Vaibhav Plasto currently operates three BOBST rotogravure presses, which includes an RS 5002 press commissioned in 2016.

The addition of the new presses will bring the total to five, significantly boosting the company’s production capacity and capabilities.

The strategic investment in BOBST technology demonstrates Vaibhav Plasto’s readiness to adopt advanced technologies that cater to the evolving needs of the market.

With a turnover exceeding Rs3bn ($35.9m) and a workforce of 1,000 employees, Vaibhav Plasto debuted its Printing and Packaging Division in 2007 in Hingna Industrial Area, Nagpur.

The division currently boasts a production capacity of more than 1,000 tonnes per month and has operations across 27 states in India, with exports to over five countries.

Recently, Tungate Group invested in the BOBST MASTER M5 flexographic press to strengthen its narrow web production capabilities.
