Eco-friendly products and solutions provider Freepoint Eco-Systems has announced the opening of a new office in Düsseldorf, Germany.
The opening is part of the company’s efforts to expand its advanced recycling operations in Northwestern Europe.
The Düsseldorf office, operational since 1 September, is set to enhance the company’s presence in Germany and strengthen its support for customers and partners within the region.
The establishment of the facility is a continuation of Freepoint Eco-Systems’ strategic growth in the European market.
This follows the recent announcement of a long-term concession agreement with North Sea Port for the development of a flagship European advanced recycling facility in Ghent, Belgium.
The facility is expected to divert 80,000 tonnes of waste plastic annually from incineration, repurposing it for new plastic products and packaging.

By GlobalDataIn addition to the new office, Freepoint Eco-Systems has embarked on an intended collaboration with Renewi to develop further waste plastic sorting and treatment infrastructure.
This will bolster the operations of the large-scale recycling facility in Belgium.
Freepoint Eco-Systems Recycling Europe CCO Jacco de Haas said: “Germany is the largest and most advanced plastic recycling market in Europe, and a logical place for us to establish our office.
“The opening of an organisational hub for Freepoint Eco-Systems in Düsseldorf will help us to facilitate plastic waste trading activities, establish and maintain important partnerships within the Northwestern region, and secure feedstock for our advanced recycling facilities throughout Europe.”
The Düsseldorf office will operate in conjunction with parent company Freepoint Commodities’ existing European offices in London, UK, Zug, and Geneva (both in Switzerland), focusing exclusively on the company’s advanced recycling business activities.
The primary objective of the new office is to source plastic waste feedstock for Freepoint Eco-Systems’ recycling facilities in Europe.
