Canadian body care products manufacturer Buhbli Organics has collaborated with Peel Plastics to introduce its new Himalayan Bath Salts pouch made of Braskem’s I’m greenT bio-based polyethylene.

Now available in more than 1,000 Walmart stores in the US, the product, is expected to reduce carbon footprint significantly.

Buhbli Organics co-founder Michelle Gojkovich said: “By choosing to incorporate bio-based polyethylene in the pouches for our Himalayan Bath Salts, we were able to make a more eco-friendly choice because this resin has an environmentally beneficial lifecycle assessment.

“Using green polyethylene in our packaging has a meaningful impact as it contributes to lowering Buhbli’s carbon footprint, which in turn contributes to the well-being of others and the planet.”

Braskem develops the green plastic from sugarcane produced in Brazil and a drop-in biopolymer substitute to conventional polyethylene.

“Using green polyethylene in our packaging has a meaningful impact as it contributes to lowering Buhbli’s carbon footprint.”

Braskem North America renewables team member Joe Jankowski said: “Buhbli wanted to move very quickly once they heard about Braskem’s I’m greenT Polyethylene through Peel Plastics.
