WaveGrip is set to launch a new automatic version of the G1 applicator, which can be used by low-volume beverage manufacturers.
Developed using the same quality and standards of the larger G2 and G3 applicators, the new system can create multi-packs of four, six or eight cans, with automatic pack separation.
It includes an Allen Bradley PLC Control and is capable of accommodating the complete range of can heights at speeds of up to 100 cans per minute (cpm).
WaveGrip managing director Aaron McIvor said: “We have been overwhelmed by the interest in WaveGrip’s multi-packing solutions and the launch of our new G1 is another exciting development for our entry-level customers.
“We have listened to their requirements and with the new G1, created an automated applicator that has a low entry cost, small manufacturing footprint and required volume output.”
The compact G1 is sized 1.4m x 0.8m, which is suitable for the companies in the entry level stages of drink production with lower canning volume output.

The new system is compatible with all WaveGrip carriers and uses the standard WaveGrip reels to pack more than 3,000 six-packs.
The G1 applicator can operate for 5h at 60cpm or for three hours at 100cpm.
