Flexible packaging solutions provider Elif has introduced a new high-performance PE film ‘ElifHyPEr’, which is an improved version of its earlier product ‘ElifFine’.
The new PE film optimises the use of raw material and exhibits better optical properties such as higher gloss, clarity and lower haze.
The mechanical and barrier attributes of the film have also been enhanced to optimise performance and reduce natural resource usage.
ElifHyPEr is said to eliminate the need for lamination with other substrates, encouraging packaging recyclability.
It can be used in multiple flexible packaging applications such as stand-up pouches, in-mould labels, shrink sleeves, drawstring tapes, cereal and cracker packaging, as well as frozen food packaging. It is also useful for barrier packaging, heavy duty bags, and lamination replacement.
The PE film can be used as sealant wraps, twist wraps and tapes.

By GlobalDataElif noted that the newly introduced film offers nearly three times better performance in machine direction break strength with enhanced oxygen barrier and water vapour barrier qualities.
ElifHyPEr can endure punctures and carry heavy loads, while it also features better clarity and transparency.
It can be used as an alternative for BOPP or PET films to facilitate the production of recyclable pouches and bags.
The product shows better tensile strength and break strength with negligible loss in transverse direction break strength.
It can also be used across multiple sectors, including food, hygiene and home care where it can assist the brands with product differentiation, sustainability and cost-effectiveness.
