Japanese printing company Dai Nippon Printing (DNP) has signed a joint venture (JV) agreement with SIG to provide carton packaging and filling technology solutions to the food and beverage industry in Japan.
The 50-50 Tokyo-based DNP • SIG Combibloc JV is set to be established this April.
Under the collaboration, the companies will focus on offering greater differentiation and added value in the field of carton packaging, technology and services for firms in the food and beverages industry.
DNP corporate officer and packaging operations general manager Souichiro Nishitani said: “The huge variety offered by the packaging system from SIG will enrich the Japanese market and offer clear added value for beverage manufacturers and consumers alike. The aim of our JV is to be Japan’s number two in aseptic carton packs by 2022.”
The company has been engaged in the development of carton packs and filling systems for alcoholic beverages and soft drinks in Japan since 1978.
The JV is set to have access to DNP’s experience in the field of aseptic technology.
