Paper and packaging products manufacturer Specialty Quality Packaging (SQP) is to expand its manufacturing facility in the Glenville Business and Technology Park in Schenectady County, New York, US.
The expansion plan has a cost of around $8 million and will create 45 new positions.

As part of the project, SQP will acquire a 120,000ft² building next to its existing operation site, doubling its overall holding to 240,000ft².
In connection with the expansion project, the company is receiving incentives from New York State bodies, including up to $900,000 in performance-based Excelsior Jobs Programme tax credits from Empire State Development (ESD).
The company will also receive a sales tax exemption from Schenectady County Metroplex Development Authority on construction materials used for the renovation of the expanded complex.
SQP president Adam Epstein said: “After looking at many other options, this is the right location to keep SQP growing and we are grateful to our dedicated employees and to the State of New York, Schenectady County and Glenville for working with us to expand our operations.”
