Industrial wood and packaging solutions firm Conner Industries is planning to open a manufacturing facility in Clarksville, Tennessee, US, on 1 February.

The decision follows after the company said it posted a strong first quarter growth as well as investments recently made in new equipment expenditures for various facilities. The company will revamp online presence and implement new technologies at corporate level.

Conner Industries CEO David Dixon said: “We’re very pleased to announce the opening of a new location in Clarksville, Tennessee.

“This is not only an opportunity to bring more jobs to the area, but it also allows us to further expand our manufacturing capabilities and meet the growing needs of the Nashville market.”

The new facility will feature a 30,000ft2 assembly line, several acres designated for product storage and an on-site rail spur with a loading dock.

The company will use the Clarksville plant to carry out wood packaging products assembly and as a warehousing and cross-docking location for break bulk. It will also be used to provide 3PL services for JIT delivery.
