Flexible packaging solutions provider ProAmpac has expanded its ProActive Recyclable portfolio with the launch of a new roll stock film R-1000.
R-1000 is compatible with vertical and horizontal form fill seal machines and can be used for dry food, home and personal care, as well as pet food applications.
It is available in matte, gloss or with the company’s Signature Surfaces Paper Touch tactile enhancement.
The film can be used for standard or high-barrier versions to create a recyclable alternative to traditional laminations, helping customers to reach their sustainability goals.
ProAmpac chief commercial officer Adam Grose said: “ProAmpac is committed to help our customers meet their sustainable packaging objectives with products that perform at or above existing product performance levels.
“Our new R-1000 offers processing ease at high speeds for both vertical and horizontal filling machines.”

By GlobalDataThe new product is How2Recycle-qualified for in-store drop-off. The film is also Food and Drug Administration (FDA)-compliant for food contact.
ProAmpac research innovation and technology director Hesam Tabatabaei said: “When developing R-1000, we wanted to ensure that it maintained the speed of vertical and horizontal form fill sealing machines and ran much faster than typical mono-material films currently on the market.
“It has been engineered with high heat-resistance that resists ‘gum-up,’ burn-through and deformation during high-speed packaging.”
In April, ProAmpac launched a new line of coatings Signature Surfaces to enhance the tactile feel of consumer packaging.
