Sports venue hospitality provider Centerplate and American food and beverage company PepsiCo have collaborated to offer Aquafina in aluminium cans at Super Bowl LIV on 2 February.
The partners aimed to provide over 100,000 cans of Aquafina inside the Hard Rock Stadium.
The introduction of aluminium can supports Hard Rock Stadium’s mission to eliminate 99.4% of single-use plastics this year. Centerplate is as the official food and beverage partner of the stadium.
In January, Centerplate has established a partnership with sustainable packaging provider Ball Corporation and beverage company Bud Light to offer sustainable drinks packaging at Super Bowl LIV.
Centerplate CEO Steve Pangburn said: “We want to lead the way in providing innovative solutions for our clients and guests, especially in support of our mission, vision and values.

The move is part of the commitment made by Centerplate to its parent company Sodexo under the latter’s North American Single-Use Plastics Reduction Plan.
As part of the plan, Sodexo has committed to eliminating single-use plastic bags, stirrers and polystyrene foam items from its products by 2025.
