E-commerce retailer Amazon has reportedly reduced its packaging by expanding its Packaging-Free Shipping (PFS) solution to more than 100 cities in India.
With this initiative, customer orders are shipped with no extra packaging apart from their original packing.
Some of the items that are delivered packaging free are home and home improvement products, shoes, luggage, and tech accessories among others.
The solution allows several delivery orders to be safely carried in totes that are re-usable.
Amazon launched the sustainable packaging solution in June last year in nine Indian cities.
Amazon India Customer Fulfilment & Supply Chain director Prakash Kumar Dutta was quoted by The Hindu Business Line as saying: “At Amazon India, we are aggressively working towards building innovative and sustainable packaging solutions which will help us minimise waste.
