Aluminium packaging company Ball has announced plans to develop an aluminium beverage packaging plant in North Las Vegas, Nevada.
The multi-line plant’s construction is scheduled to begin late next year and the facility will generate almost 180 manufacturing jobs once fully operational.
Ball’s North Las Vegas facility will manufacture a range of advanced can sizes for various beverage customers.
The company said that aluminium cans, bottles and cups are infinitely recyclable, economically valuable and can be reused repeatedly, which supports a circular economy.
Around $290m is expected to be invested in the facility over the coming years.
Ball North and Central America president Kathleen Pitre said: “Our new North Las Vegas plant is Ball’s latest investment to serve accelerating demand for our portfolio of infinitely recyclable aluminium containers.

By GlobalData“The new plant is supported by numerous long-duration contracts for committed volume with our strategic global partners and regional customers and will enable us to serve customer and consumer needs for more sustainable aluminium beverage packaging while furthering our Drive for Ten vision.”
North Las Vegas was chosen as the facility’s location due to several factors, including its proximity to customer can-filling investments, demand growth in the region, the available infrastructure and regional labour base, as well as cooperation between state and local officials.
Ball produces sustainable aluminium packaging solutions for various sectors, including beverage, personal care and household products.
The company also supplies aerospace and other technologies for the US Government.
In January, Ball announced plans to develop an aluminium end manufacturing facility in Bowling Green, Kentucky.
The plant is due to begin production early next year and will supply infinitely recyclable and lightweight aluminium for regional and national customers.
It is expected to generate around 200 manufacturing jobs once operational.
