US-based packaging company Berlin Packaging has purchased Canadian glass bottle and closure distributor United Bottles & Packaging in an effort to expand its operations in the Americas.
United Bottles & Packaging supplies bottles and closures for food and both alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages, including packaging for wine, spirits, beer and cider.
In addition to supplying packaging, the company offers a suite of value-added services, including custom shapes and moulds, case-packed pallets, warehousing and logistics, and customised boxes and caps.
It also runs a sustainability programme that involves collecting, disposing of and recycling used beverage containers.
With this acquisition, Berlin Packaging aims to reinforce its position in Canada’s food and beverage markets, as well as increase its product offerings across North America.
The financial terms of the deal have not been disclosed.
