By GlobalDataThis technology converts plastic waste, which is not suitable for mechanical recycling, into material of virgin plastic quality.
The new pot retains its signature mortar shape and sunny yellow colour, and will be used in Choví Group’s garlic mayonnaise brand, Allioli.
Choví industrial director David Moya said: “The process path of developing our iconic Allioli pot to include recycled material has been a long but rewarding road, and the result is excellent.
“It was made possible thanks to our alliance with Berry, and Repsol, who have been perfect travel companions for us in this pioneering project to increase the sustainability of the Allioli pot.”
The addition of recycled plastic in the injection-moulded pot is a result of the collaboration between three ISCC PLUS certified companies, namely Choví, Berry, and recycled polypropylene supplier Repsol.
The successful collaboration is the outcome of Choví Group and Berry’s 25 years of partnership, and will ensure the development of packaging solution in the future.
The new Allioli pot is 100% recyclable at the right facilities.
Berry Iberia commercial director Ignacio Igea said: “Our partnership with Choví is an example of the kind of relationship that we strive to establish with all our customers every day.
“It involves being innovative and providing state-of-the-art technology, dedicated service and commitment to more sustainable development.”
Last month, Berry Global developed recycled plastic bottles for skincare brand Koa’s Body Cleanser and Body Moisturizer products.
