Cleanroom Film and Bags (CFB), a division of US-based packaging company C-P Flexible Packaging, has opened a modernised facility in Placentia, California.
The advanced facility houses ISO-certified cleanrooms that are installed with environmental monitoring climate systems, as well as a fully equipped laboratory.
To maintain cleanliness, the cleanrooms’ converting equipment features ten extrusion blown film lines.
In addition, the facility is equipped with 440 solar panels, which will support one-third of the cleanroom facility’s energy requirements.
The plant is said to be one of the largest solar deployments in Orange County, California.
CFB general manager Jaime Read said: “We are very excited about this expansion, which enhances our capacity and speed-to-market.”

CFB’s Placentia facility is intended to help meet increasing demand for high-quality, certified cleanroom packaging without compromising on the brand’s commitment to sourcing all components from the US.
The facility is scheduled to open on 16 June in the presence of CFB customers, executives from CFB and C-P Flexible Packaging, regional elected officials and media outlets.
C-P Flexible Packaging CEO Michael Hoffman said: “CFB’s new state-of-the-art cleanroom facility raises the bar for cleanroom manufacturing.
“This new facility allows us to continue to meet the demand of our clients, stay at the forefront of cleanroom innovation and demonstrate our commitment to environmental responsibility.”
Earlier this year, C-P Flexible Packaging acquired privately held flexible packaging firm Bass Flexible Packaging for an undisclosed sum.
Based in Minnesota, Bass Flexible Packaging specialises in manufacturing stand-up pouches, premade bags and shrink sleeves.
