Software and Web Developers, Programmers, and Testers Occupations emerged as the leading IT occupation in Europe with a share of 39.37% in May 2022, a 4.48% drop over the previous month. Database and Network Administrators and Architects came in next, claiming a share of 23.66% in May 2022, marking a 15.79% month-on-month decline. In the third place was Miscellaneous Computer Occupations with a share of 19.59% in May 2022, an 18.46% drop from April 2022.

Top five packaging companies in Europe’s IT recruitment activity in May 2022
The top five companies, in terms of number of jobs as tracked by GlobalData, accounted for a combined average decline of 12.44% in the overall IT recruitment activity of Europe’s packaging industry during May 2022 over previous month.
Fujitsu General posted 51 IT jobs in May 2022 and registered a decline of 7.27% over the previous month, followed by The Body Shop International with 35 jobs and a 75% growth. Unternehmensgruppe Theo Muller S.e.c.s. with 31 IT jobs and Cherkizovo Group with 30 jobs, recorded a 342.86% rise and a 25% rise, respectively, while Nestle recorded a 69.47% decline with 29 job postings during May 2022.
Country-wise composition of IT hiring in Europe’s packaging industry
The UK commanded a leading presence in the region’s packaging industry IT hiring activity with a 26.8% share in May 2022, a 29.46% increase over April 2022. Germany featured next with a 14.97% share, down 7.95% over the previous month. Spain recorded an 8.32% share, a drop of 18.18% compared with April 2022.
Junior Level job postings dominate in May 2022
Junior Level jobs held a share of 74.86%, down by 5.59% from April 2022. Entry Level positions with a 13.12% share, registered a decline of 24.47% compared with the previous month.
In the third place was Mid Level job ads with a 12.01% share, down 12.16% over April 2022.
