Sweden-based AR Packaging has entered a strategic partnership to purchase an equity stake in France’s Cypheme for an undisclosed sum.
Cypheme offers an artificial intelligence (AI) powered system that can recognise the printed product's packaging marker with a neural network, using only a cell phone camera.
The companies are expected to combine their respective innovative technologies to offer improved anti-counterfeiting options to customers.
AR Packaging has already developed a technological concept, Futeco, to print copy-resistant and random security markers combined with inline variable QR codes directly onto the packaging.
The Cypheme technology offers fast and easy access to anyone who wishes to verify the authenticity of the products adopting the solution.
Combination of Futec oconcept and the Cypheme technology is expected to offer enhanced anti-counterfeit and traceability features, as well as high-efficiency printing processes.
