Taiwan-based Polystar has exhibited two packaging recycling machines at the recently concluded Plastivision event in India.

The machines showcased by the company include its Repro-One one-step recycling machine, and the compact Repro Air film recycling solution.

Polystar’s Repro-One machine features a heavy-duty single-shaft shredder that is directly connected to an extruder pelletizer.

The machine enables polypropylene (PP) raffia / PP non-woven manufacturers to process their rejected raffia waste, such as tapes, fabric, bags and lumps generated from in-house production.

The recycled pellets can placed back into tape extrusion machines for immediate reprocessing, eliminating the need to shred or cut down large, thick or bulky waste.

Polystar noted the recycled pellets, loaded in high percentages, can produce fabric with improved tensile strength and elongation capabilities.

The other solution at the event, Repro Air, has been specially designed for blown film and cast film producers.

The machine can recycle high-density polyethylene (HDPE), low-density polyethylene (LDPE) and linear low-density polyethylene (LLDPE) film scraps, as well as film rolls, edge-trim waste and T-shirt bag bundles.

Lightly-printed films can also be converted into high-quality, uniformed pellets using the machine.

According to Polystar, Repro Air does not require any water consumption and can be placed next to or in between blown film machines.  

The pellets produced by the machine's hot die face pelletizer can be directly reintroduced to the production line for immediate reprocessing.

So far, Polystar has sold more than 25 sets of recycling machinery in India.
