Switzerland-based folding box manufacturer Rondo has expanded the capacity of its factory located in Ejpovice, Czech Republic.

As part of the expansion, a new Bobst VisionCut CUT 106 LER die-cutter with an in-line separator and a gluing line was added to the existing machinery installed at the site.

The expansion has increased the Ejpovice plant’s capacity to produce up to 700 million folding boxes and partition blanks in a year.

In the medium term, the site will also be able to produce 1.2 billion items.

Installation of the automatic die-cutting machine will enable Rondo to handle larger orders involving more than 20,000 sheets.

The newly added gluing line at the Ejpovice plant will also allow the company to avoid bottlenecks in production.

The new gluing line has the ability to process larger blanks, up to 110cm in width, and can help manufacturing of crash lock folding boxes.

"The expansion has increased the Ejpovice plant’s capacity to produce up to 700 million folding boxes and partition blanks in a year."

Rondo has also added ten new employees to its Ejpovice factory.

In 2012, the company added 6,000m² of new production and storage space as well as an additional Heidelberg production line for printing, die-cutting and gluing to the factory.

With 350 employees, Rondo currently has manufacturing facilities in Switzerland, Czech Republic and the US.
