Notably, environmental sustainability was one of the most frequently referenced themes in Q2 2024, ranking highest in terms of mentions, ahead of personalization and 3d printing, according to GlobalData.
Of the top leading companies in the packaging industry, International Paper had the greatest increase in references for environmental sustainability in Q2 2024, compared with the previous quarter. GlobalData identified 288 environmental sustainability-related sentences in the company's filings - 14% of all sentences - and an increase of 2% in Q2 2024 compared with Q2 2023. Suzano’s mentions of environmental sustainability dropped by 94% to 45 and Westrock’s by 93% to 16 and Svenska Cellulosa Aktiebolaget’s by 52% to 11 and UPM-Kymmene’s by 25% to 10.
