iFoodbag has entered into a worldwide production agreement with international packaging and paper group Mondi.
As an integrated supplier, Mondi will offer support and experience along the complete production and supply chain of the iFoodbag, an innovative product claimed to transform online grocery shopping.
Although online shopping is growing steadily worldwide, shopping online for chilled or frozen goods is currently not as easy as shopping for items such as shoes, furniture or electronics. It will be beneficial for customers to have the ability to shop conveniently online for all types of groceries, including chilled and frozen products, and have them delivered fresh, regardless of location.
Claiming to offer a smart logistical solution to challenges involving temperature-controlled products, ordering frozen or chilled products from online store will now become feasible due to iFoodbag.
With several patents pending and will now be available worldwide, iFoodbag is developed by Swedish start-up iFoodbag, which was founded in 2013.
Made from a paper-based composite material, iFoodbag works as a temperature-controlled packaging solution that can protect chilled and frozen food products for up to 24h. However, it is subject to some temperature constraints and circumstances.

By GlobalDataRecent tests were conducted and research institute Innventia has proven iFoodbag’s benefits and its performance in keeping goods chilled or frozen.
Food retailers currently struggling to offer an efficient logistical set-up for temperature-controlled home deliveries will be able to pack frozen and chilled goods in iFoodbag and transport them in standard regular vehicles rather than refrigerated trucks.
iFoodbag claimed that logistics and distribution costs will also fall significantly for online retailers.
