Finland-based company UPM Raflatac has announced receiving global approvals for its OptiCut Direct Thermal Linerless RL50 range on Star Micronics’ mC-Label3 printers.

These verifications will further help the company to expand the performance of its label materials across the hospitality business sector and any segments under it such as quick-service restaurants.

The latest milestone comes after a series of extensive testing and approval processes to validate the efficiency and performance of UPM’s OptiCut label materials when combined with mC-Label3 printers.

Star Micronics is a printer manufacturing company, with a point-of-sale printer portfolio, including thermal, dot matrix printers, and mechanisms that are used for barcode, ticketing, receipt, and labelling requirements.

UPM said its linerless label has already been certified as a CarbonNeutral product for its complete life cycle.

The company is now focusing on further minimising its carbon footprint.
