Arnold Bread, a part of Bimbo Bakeries USA, has introduced new bread bags featuring 30% post-consumer recycled (PCR) content.
The polyethylene bags, produced from US Food and Drug Administration-compliant PCR resins, have been implemented across the brand’s Organic line.
SCS Global Services, a third-party testing, inspection, and certification company, has verified the new bags according to its standards.
The new packaging, when compared to its predecessor, lowers the company’s carbon footprint and reduces its use of fossil fuels.
Bimbo Bakeries USA Premium Bread marketing director Allan Hoffman said: “A commitment to sustainability is baked into everything we do, and it is a company principle to nourish a better world.
“Our brand is constantly looking for ways to make a positive environmental impression on our consumers and the communities that we serve.
