Plastic packaging manufacturer Berry Global has announced the launch of new recycled content large containers, as part of its existing Optimum range.
Available in 20-litre and 25-litre sizes, the lightweight containers are made using 35% recycled high-density polyethylene (rHDPE) material.

The containers are available with standard DIN61 and ASTM63 neck finishes.
Such containers are ideal for a variety of standard and vented closures and can even be specified in different colours, the company added.
The base of the container supports easy and safe stacking and features an interlocking top design.
Some of the common applications of the new containers include storage of hazardous goods, automotive care equipment, and usage in pool care.
Berry said that these containers have already received approval from the UN Recommendations on the Transport of Dangerous Goods for five out of the six model liquids mentioned in the UN assessment.
The new containers have also received approval for wetting solutions, acetic acid, white spirits, and N-butyl acetate.
Berry Global BMS general manager Rudolph Pfeiffer said: “We believe these new containers offer one of the highest contents of recycled material with UN approval currently available on the market.
“We are very pleased to be able to provide our customers with a solution to the packaging of challenging products that supports their sustainability commitments without compromising on quality or performance.”
The launch of these containers will further help businesses adhere to forthcoming legislation, which requires companies to have a minimum amount of recycled material in their products’ packaging.
Berry has also been providing two freezer-safe packaging solutions for global fruit-oriented solutions company Gat Foods.
