North American firm Rapak has unveiled its new product Strivo, which is the twist-lock, bag-in-box connecting system for dispensing liquid foods.

Equipped with a simple push, twist and lock functionality, the new fitment converts connecting bag-in-box (BIB) bags into easy-to-use, efficient and leak-free dispensing equipment.

The new launch also allows facilitates cleaning and sanitisation. Coming as a one-piece product, it is also considered suitable for higher viscosity liquids, including smoothie bases, fruit purees and other similar food products under FDA and EU regulations.

Rapak offers Strivo in size options of 0.5in and 0.25in for aseptic and extended shelf life (ESL) applications. The BIB products can be personalised to be adjusted into any size tube of the dispensing machinery.

Flexible packaging and filling systems Rapak is a business unit under the plastics division of UK-based DS Smith. It intends to showcase Strivo at PackExpo this year in Las Vegas, Nevada, US.

The flexible packaging and filling system manufacturer had also come up with a bag for oxygen sensitive products, including fruit puree and smoothies. Developed with a clear high-barrier film, the bag can be used as an alternative for the metalised film bags which are conventionally used for food packaging.
