The Netherlands-headquartered domestic appliances brand Versuni has announced the launch of 100% recycled paper packaging for its Philips portfolio across the globe.
Implemented with immediate effect, Versuni’s revamped packaging is initially being introduced for Philips’ home appliances products, including its Air Purifier, Airfryer, Cordless Vacuum 800 series, Espresso Machine with LatteGo, and Steam Iron 3000 series.
Versuni said its 100% recyclable packaging has been designed to effectively endure transportation without the need for any additional protection.
This will also help the company’s customers to directly stick their shipping labels onto the packaging.
Versuni has significantly reduced the printed marketing area displayed on the box to ensure approximately 65% less ink.
The dimensions of the revamped packaging solution have been reduced, wherever feasible, to ensure space optimisation within the boxes themselves.

Consumers can then scan these QR codes to access FAQs, ‘how to get started’ videos, and downloadable user manuals in the language of their choice.
Meanwhile, crucial information such as safety instructions, warranty details, and simplified set-up guides are retained within the box.
Versuni design head Calum Armstrong said: “The desire to become more sustainable in our approach really challenges us to find innovative and creative solutions, from how we package and print, to adopting alternative digital solutions.”
Versuni said that the latest move has been implemented in collaboration with its packaging partner DS Smith.
All these efforts are in alignment with Versuni’s commitment to design products and packaging for extended use, repairability, and reusability, further repurposing what would normally be waste into a resource.
Over the next few years, this recyclable packaging is set to be expanded to cover Versuni’s entire product portfolio, slowing phasing out single-use plastics in the process.
DS Smith sustainability head Wouter van Tol said: “We have partnered with Versuni at all levels of the design and production process to optimise supply chain processes and replace plastic where possible.
“Our pioneering Circular Design Metrics tool, created in collaboration with the Ellen McArthur Foundation, was an essential step in this.”
