German technology company Voith Group has announced receiving an order to revamp the packaging paper mill of an undisclosed global packaging and paper manufacturing company.
As part of this order, Voith will be responsible for rebuilding the business’ existing production line into a new and efficient XcelLine paper machine equipped for manufacturing recycled packaging papers.
The new paper machine will feature the latest technologies, including a DuoFormer CB shoe-blade former, a MasterJet Pro headbox, a DuoCentri NipcoFlex press, a MasterReel for high-performance reeling, as well as a SpeedSizer AT for uniform film application.
The associated work will further require Voith to convert the existing winder into a VariFlex Performance winder.
Used for processing packaging papers, the new winder will boost the overall efficiency and productivity of the entire line.
In addition, Voith will install a customised solution, including a resource-saving BlueLine stock preparation system, and provide a comprehensive service and fabrics package.

By GlobalDataThe project also includes the delivery and installation of OnControl automation technology that will help the global packaging company to control and visualise the entire production process.
A separate OnQuality Quality Control System (QCS), which comprises ModuleJet, ModuleSteam and ModulePro actuators and scanners along with an OnView information system, will also be installed at the facility.
The QCS platform, Voith said, will help in stabilising and optimising the product quality and production process at the mill.
The rebuild work and commissioning of the new production line are expected to be completed in 2025.
Voith Global Rebuilds senior vice-president Martin Jauch said: “We are extremely proud to have received this significant rebuild order.
“This order not only confirms our leading position in the industry, but also underlines our customers’ appreciation for our technological solutions.
“The customer will benefit from few interfaces and our full-line approach. We will continue to use our innovative power to exceed our customers’ expectations and move the industry forward.”
Voith also announced that it is rebuilding Enstra Paper’s existing PM 6 packaging paper machine.
