Chilau Foods has partnered with Consumer Convenience Technologies (CCT) to enhance its product packaging.
The food company will adopt CCT’s EEASY Lid, which is claimed to be the first jar lid innovation in more than 75 years, on its full line of ‘Southern-inspired’ stew bases products.
According to CCT, its patented EEASY Lid solution will offer brands easy accessibility to their jarred food products.
Customers can open a vacuum-sealed jar by simply pressing a button on the lid, which reduces the force required to twist off the lid by up to 50%, CCT claims.
In addition, EEASY Lid requires an average of 9in-lb of torque to open a jar, which compares to more than 40in-lb of torque required by traditional jarred products on a store shelf.
Chilau, which supplies nearly 350 stores across the US, aims to roll out its products featuring EEASY Lid by the end of the first quarter of 2024.
