Detox and nutritional supplement brand Touchstone Essentials has chosen to adopt bio-PPE pouches for its organic superfood powder line.
The company has replaced its previously used plastic canisters with bio-PPE pouches as part of its sustainable efforts to lower its carbon footprint and the amount of plastic in the environment.
Touchstone made this transition by collaborating with Grounded, a packaging manufacturer that produces environmentally friendly pouches using its patented SugarFlex biobased non-genetically modified organism technology.
The bio-PPE pouches are being currently used for Touchstone’s Super Green Juice organic powder, Organic Super Protein plant-based protein mix, and Organic Super Fiber superfood-based fibre blend.
Touchstone founder and CEO Eddie Stone said: “rePurpose Global helps us carry our mission of sustainability forward through impact projects, cutting-edge recycling, and ethical wages. It’s a big step toward making a healthy difference in the world.”
rePurpose Global is an international organisation that assists in establishing plastic waste management systems in regions lacking the necessary infrastructure.

By GlobalDataSo far, Touchstone claims its efforts to neutralise plastic waste have prevented almost 7,000 pounds of plastic from reaching oceans and landfills each year and has also helped to eliminate approximately 1.4 million pieces of plastic from the environment.
Furthermore, these initiatives provide additional income for 40 waste workers and their families in a disadvantaged community in Goa, India.
