British company Macfarlane Packaging has relaunched its standard single-wall and double-wall stock boxes range, now featuring a more sustainable design.
The relaunched double-wall and single-wall boxes are now made using 100% and 90% recycled material, respectively.

The company said that its ‘0201’ stock boxes are designed to replace 1,700 tonnes per annum (tpa) of virgin cardboard with recycled material.
The range is lighter than before and can potentially save more than 1,000tpa of corrugated cardboard.
Macfarlane’s stock box range is also 100% Forest Stewardship Council (FSC) certified.
A single-wall carton, according to the company, can serve as a suitable low-cost packaging alternative for storing, e-commerce, or dispatch purposes.

Capable of handling heavier loads, the company’s double-walled boxes now offer enhanced durability.
These double-wall boxes have an additional layer of corrugated cardboard cushioning and can therefore withstand heavier weights, compression, and stacking pressure.
Currently, Macfarlane offers 40 different sizes for its single-wall boxes and 30 sizes for its double-wall boxes.

“This development fits with our environmental, social and governance [ESG] agenda, which focuses on continually improving our product offering in line with our ‘sustainability as standard’ approach.”
Recently, Macfarlane published its Unboxing Survey 2023, highlighting that nearly 55% of surveyed consumers are demanding retailers use/offer more sustainable packaging material that can be reused or recycled again.
