Smurfit Kappa has agreed to acquire UK non-integrated corrugated, high-quality print and display business Inspirepac from the Logson Group for £43.5m.
With the acquisition, the company is expanding its corrugated packaging operations in the UK, as well as building on its print and point-of-sale market segments.
Inspirepac employs 279 people and operates two packaging plants and a further two erecting plants in North England.
Subject to customary closing conditions, the acquisition is expected to be completed in the second quarter of this year.
Commenting on the acquisition, Smurfit Kappa COO and president Tony Smurfit said: "Inspirepac have built excellent businesses in many product and customer sectors, which will add to our existing strengths, and support our continued drive to ‘Open the Future’ within the UK packaging market."
In March, Smurfit Kappa agreed to acquire a non-integrated corrugated, folding cartons and flexible packaging manufacturer Grupo CYBSA for $100m.
