Reusable packaging producer Orbis Corporation has opened its new production plant in Silao, Guanajuato, Mexico.
Spread over an area of around 265,000ft², the plant is said to be the company’s first facility to offer injection and structural foam molding, as well as dunnage fabrication, all under one roof.
Employing 140 people, the plant will also produce plastic containers, pallets, BulkPak containers and ORBIShield dunnage product line offerings.
Orbis has also introduced a new range of fabric dunnage, which claims to offer a protective solution to the automotive supply chain.
Commenting on the development, Orbis Corporation president Bill Ash said: "The new facility features best-in-class design for efficient product flow, productivity and environmental sustainability.
"With our dedicated team of employees, Orbis is well-positioned to serve our customers with local manufacturing and design expertise, resources and capabilities, while improving our service reach. This strong local presence will help us best serve our leading customers in the automotive, food and beverage sectors throughout Latin America."
With this investment, Orbis will be able to serve the growing customer base in Latin America.
Besides this plant, Orbis also operates four service centres throughout Mexico.
