US-based glass and packaging manufacturer M.A. Silva has acquired Vintners Global Resource’s (VGR) packaging business for an undisclosed amount.
Headquartered in Washington, VGR supplies imported and domestic wine bottles, closures and packaging to the Pacific north-west wine industry. It currently has warehouses in Yakima and Kent, Washington, as well as Ohio and China.
The combined companies will together offer a quality product portfolio to wineries in the Pacific north-west region, under a deal with M.A. Silva’s long-time partner Oak Tradition.
M.A. Silva president Neil Foster said: "We’ve successfully grown our company, and merging VGR into M.A. Silva is the next exciting step forward in the continuing progression of our business and enables us to continue to execute our vision to be the leading supplier of natural wine corks and wine bottles, with the guarantee of excellence in product quality and service.
"We are committed and passionate to partner with both current and new customers in delivering the perfect packaging solutions."
VGR CEO and founder Andy Brassington said: "We are excited to merge our wine packaging business with M.A. Silva, the best cork and wine bottle company in the industry.
