Sustainable packaging company Amcor has announced the expansion of its thermoforming production capacity in North America.
As part of the expansion, the company has installed advanced automated thermoforming equipment at its healthcare manufacturing plant in Oshkosh, Wisconsin.
This strategic move seeks to address demand from healthcare customers in the medical, pharmaceutical, and consumer health sectors in the region.
The expansion will enable these customers to source both thermoforms and companion die-cut lids from a single location to improve product manufacturing and distribution.
The new equipment in Oshkosh is set to be operational by December this year and will be housed in the plant’s Class 7 cleanroom, adhering to the ISO 13485 quality system.
Amcor Flexibles North America Healthcare vice-president and general manager Art Castro said: “We’re excited to offer our healthcare customers a critical supply solution by scaling up our manufacturing capabilities.
