Specright, a purpose-built, patented platform for specification management, has partnered with How2Recycle, a standardised labelling system, to enhance recycling instructions on packaging.
This collaboration aims to leverage digitised specification data to create clear and accurate recycling labels on packaging in the US and Canada, addressing consumer confusion around recycling practices.
The partnership will utilise Specright’s patented Specification Data Management Platform to trial live integrated connections with How2Recycle’s platform in the second quarter (Q2) of 2024.
This pilot will come after a successful data attribute harmonisation phase and is expected to reduce quality issues and errors from human entry, remove duplicate data entries, and support reporting while ensuring data security.
Specright Customer Success and Strategic Partnerships vice-president Adam Armstrong said: “Our partnership promise at Specright is ‘one plus one equals three,’ in the sense that we work better together with all of our partners – together creating more positive change in the world through products and packaging. This partnership comes at a time when consumer demand is at an all-time high for more sustainable products and packaging, and for education around recycling specifically.”
How2Recycle, a programme of nearly 12 years, stemmed from environmental non-profit organisation GreenBlue.
