Tata Elxsi, a product engineering and design services company, has introduced an eco-friendly packaging design for the Vatika shampoo range in the United Arab Emirates market.
The design reflects a shift towards sustainability, with a 15% reduction in plastic usage per 400ml pack when compared with the previous design.
With the new packaging, Tata intends to reduce plastic usage without compromising the bottle’s usability, functionality, and structural integrity.
The update reportedly reduces greenhouse gas emissions by 20% and plastic usage by 128t yearly.
Virtual engineering techniques were also used to optimise the design, with it featuring a refined silhouette to appeal to Vatika’s predominantly female customer base.
Tata chief designer Shyam Sunder B K said: “Our design reflects Vatika Naturals’ commitment to sustainability and natural ingredients, creating a fresh brand identity through natural motifs in shampoo and conditioner packaging.
