SPAR Hungary has announced its plans to roll out a new type of environmentally conscious, reusable transport container for its fruit and vegetable departments in 2024.
These foldable and durable boxes are designed to make the fresh and vegetable sections in the company’s stores more uniform while also adhering to high food safety standards by being easily cleanable.
The introduction of these fully recyclable containers is expected to significantly reduce the use of cardboard, plastic, and wood from one-way containers.
The robust and collapsible design of the containers will also lead to considerable cost savings during transport.
Since last September, SPAR Hungary has been conducting tests with these new containers and has reported positive experiences.
The containers are set to be deployed in all company-owned stores by the end of this year.
