The UK’s packaging industry registered a 24.9% drop in IT hiring activity in November 2022 when compared with the previous month, according to GlobalData’s Job Analytics database.

The industry’s overall hiring is decreased by 1.37% in November 2022 when compared with October 2022.

Out of the packaging industry’s total hiring activity, IT jobs claimed a 2.34% share in November 2022, recording a decrease of 1.31% over the last three-month average share.

Top five job classifications in the UK’s packaging industry’s IT recruitment activity in November 2022

Out of the total job titles, the top five roles commanded a 98.68% share in the overall IT recruitment activity of the UK’s packaging industry in November 2022.

1) Computer and Information Analysts recorded a share of 38.16% in November 2022, registering a 27.5% decline over the previous month.

2) Software and Web Developers, Programmers, and Testers claimed a 21.05% share, a decrease of 60.98% over the previous month.

3) Database and Network Administrators and Architects held a share of 19.74%, registering a 7.14% rise from October 2022.

4) Miscellaneous Computer Occupations captured a share of 15.79%, up 71.43% over the previous month.

Top five packaging companies in the UK’s IT recruitment activity in November 2022

The top five companies, in terms of number of jobs as tracked by GlobalData, have accounted for a combined average decline of 32.76% share in the overall IT recruitment activity of the UK’s packaging industry during November 2022 over October 2022.

Body Shop International posted 15 IT jobs in November 2022 and registered a drop of 46.43% over the previous month, followed by Mars with 10 jobs and a 150% growth. Reckitt Benckiser Group with 7 IT jobs and Unilever with 4 jobs, recorded a flat growth and a 42.86% decrease, respectively, while Unternehmensgruppe Theo Muller S.e.c.s. recorded a decline of 75% with 3 job postings during November 2022.

Junior Level job postings dominate in November 2022

Junior Level jobs held a share of 75%, down by 35.96% from October 2022. Mid Level positions with a 17.11% share, registered an increase of 8.33% compared with the previous month.

In the third place was Entry Level job ads with a 7.89% share, down 33.33% over October 2022.
