Specialty coatings and chemicals provider Actega’s North American business unit plans to expand its printing and packaging market with the launch of MotionCoat.
The new product has been designed for both flexographic and lithographic applications, and will join the company’s specialty coatings portfolio.
The company claims that the UV coating system, which is awaiting patent approval, creates a motion-like image when combined with vector based artwork.
Actega North America Brand Owner Management head Dennis Drummond said: "We are very proud to introduce this truly innovative UV coating system to the market, allowing our company to serve current and future customers in all areas of special effect enhancement needs.
"MotionCoat will provide converters, designers, and brand owners the opportunity to implement a variety of eye-popping design elements into printing and packaging without the investment of specialised software or capital investments."
The ultra-adhesive, recyclable MotionCoat will facilitate in-line printing at normal press speeds.
