American Packaging (APC) is planning to open a new gravure satellite facility in Deforest, Wisconsin, US, with an investment of $50m in the first phase.

Scheduled for next year, the first phase of the project includes a 170,000ft² building and two ten-station gravure presses, as well as ink blending, cylinder storage and finishing equipment.

To be established on an area of 26.3 acres of land, the entire project will create more than 60 new jobs.

In order to fund the new gravure satellite facility project, the Wisconsin Economic Development Corporation (WEDC), US, has authorised APC to receive up to $750,000 in state tax credits over a five-year period.

WEDC noted that the amount of credits APC will earn is contingent upon the company meeting specific job creation and wage requirements.

The village of DeForest is providing subsidised land, infrastructure and other incentives for the project.
