US-based creative packaging solutions provider Ampac has launched a packet for single-serve snack foods that transforms into a serving tray upon opening.
The E-Z SnackPak aims to offer convenience and a differentiating alternative to typical VFFS snack food packets. It also uses up to 25% less material as it does not incorporate traditional side seals.
Its tetrahedron-shape has built-in head space that adds package support, providing product protection during shipping and handling. The geometric design means that the packets can be with an interlocking pattern during shipping, and displayed in a shelf-ready carton at point-of-sale.
The E-Z SnackPak is suitable for single-serve snacks where the product is consumed by the user directly from the bag. With a gas-flush capability during filling, it can be used in various applications, including sweet and savoury snacks, treats and dry foods.
Packaging options include barrier and non-barrier as well as rotogravure, flexographic or high-definition flexographic print.
Ampac innovation and technology vice president Sal Pellingra said that the packaging is a true differentiator, aiming to delight consumers and transform the traditional snacking experience.
